Celebrating 30 Years of Entertaining Alberta
When Stage West began 30 years ago in an old Boat and Marine supply warehouse in Calgary, the theatre restaurant concept was already in decline in America. Poor quality food and numerous reruns of ”Pajama Tops” had left the industry floundering. But over the years with a concentration on quality food, excellent service and first-rate, original and Broadway-scale productions, the theatre, survived, grew and prospered. Unlike most restaurants, many of our employees have been here since opening. We have over a hundred season ticket holders who have been faithfully attending since we opened in 1982, and we now rival the Calgary Flames in season ticket sales with over 10,000 subscribers. We have introduced live theatre to thousands of Albertans from all over the province, providing new audiences for legitimate theatres like Theatre Calgary. So to our General Manager, Gary Tse, Chef Tsoi, our loyal staff and loyal patrons, we all say thank-you for a fabulous 30 years.
Howard Pechet, CEO
To our loyal guests, family and friends,
Thank you all for joining us in helping celebrate 30 years of great entertainment in Alberta. Over the last three decades the management and staff of Stagewest Hospitality has produced some pretty impressive milestones: from employing more Canadian Equity actors than any other company, to becoming the longest running dinner theatre company in Canada, and finally to being accepted into the Guinness Book of World Records as having produced more individual plays than any other production house in the world. It has been a very exciting 30 years, but we are just hitting our stride. With plans for new facilities and bigger productions, the next 30 years are looking even better than the first. So thank you for coming on this journey with us, and letting us be, in a small way, part of your Alberta cultural heritage.
Jason Pechet, President
